Context: "Actually...Hold Up," is a podcast that fact-checks pop culture stories and breaks down how misinformation harms historically oppressed communities. The challenge was visually representing historical struggles for liberation and contemporary online experiences together.
Approach: This visual language centers around the idea that news, history, and our personal stories are often tangled up in the webs of communication we weave online. This ethos is reflected in the brand’s elements, which can be reconfigured to create permutations that expand its graphic universe. In collaboration with the Narrative Director and Executive Producer, I worked in a team of three and was responsible for the brand strategy, identity, motion graphics, marketing, and merch.
