Context
We’ve all had to do something before we were 100% ready. This logo was for a client who was starting a studio (after Sundown) and needed to get something up to make it real while working on making it...real. The challenge was to design something clean yet creative without committing to a brand just yet.

Approach
Without a formal branding process, I started semiotically—what does reprieve mean and how does it feel? Clean, light, elevated. Different than relax, reprieve is a break from the grind. As in, let us take this off your hands. Ultimately, the logo would need to appeal to corporate clients and lifestyle/media brands.

Symbol
The logo for Reprieve is structurally sound, yet artful, making it
a natural fit for a studio in experiential production.

Wordmark
A neutral sans serif with just the right amount
of tension feels smart and vibey.
