Context: The folks at Studio Stab approached me about expanding existing cover art into a social identity and marketing system for their podcast, You Are The Prize. Creative Direction by Alexis Kay and Alex Newson; Cover Art and Logo by Lauren Macrino; Brand System by me.
Approach: The goal was to 1) clarify, expand, and codify the brand, and 2) produce a suite of assets for the brand across social platforms so episodes are presented in a consistent way. This Figma Brand Library offers a variety of choices, without the decision fatigue, and lets folks use assets as is, edit templates, or create content from scratch.

Brand Library in Figma: brand guide, social templates, key art,
motion assets, guest notes, components, styles, and variables.

Original Cover Art & Logo by Lauren Macrino

To get from cover art to marketing system, we tested composition
scenarios and use cases to identify any gaps in the graphic universe.

Adding typefaces and layout devices was at the top of my
to-do list so there would be enough depth and variety
to expand across podcast platforms, web, and social.

Early version on the left, final on the right.

What started as colored tags for the episode info evolved
into a simplified palette and line system to create hierarchy.

The line is the spine,  giving brand elements
a home without being the star of the show.

These were inspired by a guest’s questions on set.
Having notes like FAQs and postcards ready to go
saves the hosts from having to repeat themselves
every time they host a guest.

Moodboard: emotional texture of the YATP brand system.

We landed on something chic, modern, and bold,
featuring editorial layouts, confident typography,
and subtle graphic structures.
